I have reel 1 of 2 of the 1924 silent film, Terror (Terreur), starring Pearl White. My roommate, who handles film for a living, took this film into his work to assess what the condition was. For being nearly 90 years old he said it was in great shape, with a little dust and a few splices- but the splices were done by someone who did a great job. This is an original copy (maybe the only copy) of this film to be in existence. There is approximately 1500 to 1700 feet of film. The film is Kodak Safety Positive. +3,5This is her last movie of Pearl White's extensive career. She came out of retirement to do it. It was filmed in France, hence the french title on the IMDb site.This is a great opportunity for a serious film collector to own an original silent movie by one of the most successful silent film stars from the 1920's and a piece of film history. I think that very few of her films have survived and been restored.This is the link to this movie on the IMDb website:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0015393/ Nowhere on the internet can I find that anyone has ever seen this film, leading me to believe that this is probably the last known copy. I am not going through PayPal because I would like to deal with the buyer directly, eBay made me select it. It turns out that there is a 35mm copy of it but the IMDb doesn't really say anything else about it- not even running time. And I am willing to drop the price down dramatically based on the info I now know.
