Description
Up for grabs is the hyper rare Chrono Trigger V-Jump contest VHS. For those who don't already know about this scarce item, this VHS was only awarded to those who won a mail-in contest by Japanese manga and games magazine V-Jump in 1995. The video contains interviews with the so-called "Dream Team" of RPGs, Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy creator), Yuji Horii (Dragon Quest producer), and the extremely reclusive Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball illustrator). The video contains concept art by Akira Toriyama mixed with the now classic and unforgettable soundtrack composed by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Cross, Xenogears) and Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy I-XI). Throughout the video, Sakaguchi, Horii, and Toryiama narrate a section of gameplay (in Japanese) and provides background about how certain parts of this classic title came to be. This item was never available in stores. The fact that this video contains an interview with the notoriously reclusive Akira Toryiama is itself notable. In a recent interview with 1up.com, Nobuo Uematsu confessed that even though he had worked with Toriyama on several projects, he had never met the man, and in fact, Toriyama refused to meet Uematsu when Toriyama made a behind-closed-doors appearance at a Japanese trade show. Chrono Trigger is due to be re-released on the Nintendo DS this year, and interest in this title's history and collectibles is soon to be at an all-time high. This VHS is in NTSC video format, which is the same in both Japan and the US. This video can be played in any standard US VHS player. HOWEVER, if you are a bidder in Europe, Australia, or other areas of the world, please confirm that your VCR will play NTSC videos. I have played this video only once, and that was recently, and can confirm that it plays fine without defect. I will NOT ship this item to Italy or South America (that means you, Brazil). Fix your broken postal systems. I do NOT sell bootlegs! If a deal on videos looks too good to be true on eBay, it's almost certainly a bootleg copy. See actual pics below! This title is already extremely scarce, so Buy It Now before it gets snapped up!Actual photos of the item: Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool.
